Blepharoplasty
Surgery to correct upper or lower eyelids due to excess skin or fat.
Blepharoplasty
Hello, today we are going to talk about a very discreet and beautiful procedure: blepharoplasty. The incision for upper blepharoplasty is right in the crease where the eye opens, so it is very hidden. It is used to remove excess skin due to age or genetics. The gland can also be repositioned if it is drooping, or fat can be removed. For lower blepharoplasty, the incision is made one or two millimeters below the lash line, so the lashes hide the scar and it is rarely noticeable. Another approach is through the conjunctiva, for patients with only excess fat. Recovery usually involves bruising around the eyes, so it is recommended to stay out of the sun and avoid physical effort. To know if you are a candidate, we check for eye problems or systemic diseases like diabetes or hypertension during consultation. There are two options: sedation with local anesthesia or just local anesthesia, depending on the patient.
